Creating a Great Work
Posted by Katie at 01:54 pm
On this date in history, June 1, 1967, the Beatles released Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band album.   Sgt. Pepper is often described as The Beatles' magnum opus and recognized as one of the most influential albums of all time by prominent critics and publications. It was ranked the greatest album of all time by Rolling Stone in 2003.  Magnum opus from the Latin meaning great work refers to the largest, and perhaps the best, greatest, most popular, or most renowned achievement of an author, artist or composer.  What are you doing today to create a “great work”? “With a Little Help from My Friends”,  how can O2 Marketing + Design help you create an amazing marketing campaign utilizing promotional products?

The 5 Senses in Marketing
Posted by Jontae at 02:53 pm
Got 5? Did you know that we have five senses that help us recognize, relate, and remember various experiences, outcomes, and most importantly PRODUCTS!  The five senses are SMELL, TOUCH, TASTE, SIGHT, and SOUND.  The most effective marketing campaigns use at least one, if not all, of these senses to get their consumers to remember their product or services.  Here are some examples:

1)      Southwest Airlines (Sound) - *Ding* You are now free to move about the country

2)      Automakers (Smell) – The new car smell . . . There is no such thing!  It is a manufactured scent that Automakers spray in their cars

3)      Coke (Taste) – No matter where you have a Coke all across this world they all have the same taste.

4)      Bank of America (Touch) – They keep the change campaign provides the sensory image of change in your hand

5)      Tiffany’s (Sight) – no matter what item you purchase from Tiffany’s you always see “the tiffany blue box”

Next time you sit down to create a great marketing campaign for your amazing new product or service.  Be sure to take into account at least one, if not all, of the five senses: Smell, Touch, Taste, Sight, and Sound?  If you need help . . . Give us a call!  We can definitely show you products that will give your marketing campaign a sensory EXPLOSION!

Being 2 Places or More at Once
Posted by Meg at 09:51 am
You want to be where your customers are and yet you can't be everywhere all the time...or can you? That's the power of promotional products. They CAN be with your customers and prospects when you can't. They stay with them, keeping your message in front of your audience long after you've met with them. Most people remember who gave them the promotional product. It stays with them. That's powerful stuff...not just science fiction (being two places at once...).

Give and You Shall Receive
Posted by Jontae at 11:25 am

In these economic times we are looking for every way to save a buck from budget cuts to layoffs.  During this time employees are overworked, stressed, and seemingly waiting for the next hammer to drop.  Your company’s success is still predicated upon the people that work there.  From the bottom all the way to the top, each cog in the wheel is vital to absorbing this economic blow and pressing forward.  Morale is the only thing left to stand on, and a great way to boost company morale is with AWARDS and RECOGNITION!  Did you know that the government allows you to write off up to $400 per employee on awards and recognition?  Not only do you get to let Joe the Plumber know how important he is to the company’s success . . . You get a nice gift back from good ole’ Uncle Sam himself.  Therefore, before you cut your awards/recognition budget in hopes of saving costs,   remember that if you GIVE you will RECEIVE!

Oddisms
Posted by Meg at 03:07 pm
Oddism: the celebration of all things odd! 05-07-09...a consecutive odd number date. It's one giant geek-fest. It's chic to be geek. Appeal to the geeks in your life with gifts like an espionage calculator. Give pig lovers sunscreen since pigs are the only animal to get sunburned besides humans. Send mathetically oriented clients a Rubik's cube. Or head out to the store for tater tots. Eat them 3 at a time. It's a celebration not to be mis-s-s-ed.

Mobius Loop
Posted by Jeff at 06:36 pm
Who knew that the universal recycling symbol is a form of a Mobius loop.  The Mobius strip, loop or band is named in honor of German mathematician August Ferdinand Mobius (1790-1868).  A model can easily be created by taking a paper strip and giving it a half-twist, and then joining the ends of the strip together to form a loop.  If an ant were to crawl along the length of this strip, it would return to its starting point having traversed both sides of the strip, without ever crossing an edge.  Now, if I can only figure out what those numbers in the middle mean and why everyone hates #7 so much!
